ABOUT THE BLOGGER
A Parent at O'Roarke Elementary School
My name is Andrea Baudreau. I am a parent of three children from 5th grade to Kindergarten at our school. I remember touring O'Roarke when my 10 year old was a year away from entering Kindergarten. I visited and researched so many schools, trying to find the perfect school to enroll him in. After I had my tour at O'Roarke I knew right away it was a great school and that he would be happy.
As a licensed educator, I was experienced enough to know what kind of school and environment that was important to me. I noticed the children's quality of work on the walls and topics they were learning and the displayed projects all around the building; I peeked in on the exciting lessons that were happening between teachers and students. Their faces so happy and focused. The assistant principal knew every child's name who passed her. In the lunchroom, she was opening milk containers for the kids who needed help. For every student whose birthday it was, the entire lunchroom sang "Happy Birthday." Witnessing this, made me realize, I didn't remember any of this happening when I was a younger or when stood in front of my own classroom.
All those things and much more excited me to send my kids to O'Roarke. It made me wish I could go back to school again. This school has held up to the expectations I have had. I am very happy to have three of my kids at this school.
